Recap of the Year, and A Dream Come True-2015!

Now I know this blog is for my reviews of the shows I see and thank you all very much for tuning in, and reading my insight to my favourite thing in the world.

This year, has been a life change for me having moved to a whole new county with my other half Graham, a new job, new home, new everything, but it seems that it was a good change as with moving came looking for a new amateur dramatics group, and boy did I find an amazing one! West Wickham Operatic Society. Not only did I get welcomed to this brilliant talented bunch but also they gave me a wish I had wanted for so long, a lead in a musical. I was cast as Betty in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s production of ‘Sunset Boulevard’ and after 2 months of full rehearsals on the 10th November opening night dawned at the Churchill Theatre in Bromley,11231085_10153053663795448_7503059855259214022_n and boy my dream just kept getting bigger. It was an amazing week with amazing people and the smile could not be washed off my face!  We were all amazing, and it shows in our review from Noda 🙂 Again I want to thank all those who came to see me, and support me, to all those ive made great friends with and everyone who gave me the opportunity to perform on amazing stage as Betty she was so great to play, and I overcame a lot of things with her, singing everynight solo’s, and a on stage kiss. I wish it didn’t end but 2016 has some new adventures I hope to join so fingers crossed!!

Katie Rose (Betty Schaefer) has a warm resounding tone to her voice and the chemistry with Joe as a potential 12246657_10153702948001250_2299141767442226641_nlove interest was charming and delightful, which was beautifully displayed through the various renditions of “Girl Meets Boy”. The partnership she created with Artie was equally as charming but you sensed from the chemistry being portrayed on stage that Joe was ‘the one’ for her. Her heartbroken recreation to Joe’s deception of his life style at the end of the show, was played perfectly and it just felt very real. Her final duet with Joe, “Too Much in Love to Care” was just purely delightful.

Now one dream Fulfilled I look back at my other release throughout this year, my trips to the theatre, and it was interesting to look back and see that this year Plays won other Musicals this year, which surprises me, but im also happy that I opened up to new experiences and I did enjoy it!! I took one evening to recap over my many memories in the past, and the last time I took a photo was 2014 I believe, and I know this year is yet to be over as my next production I shall be seeing will be Elf the Musical at the Dominon Theatre 2 days before Christmas but I thought I would do a comparison of my amazing collection that has grown from the end of 2014 to all of 2015. this does have a minus of one programme Dessa Rose which I sadly never got as they sold out.

I will never tire of seeing plays and musicals, and already have 3 lined up for 2016. in January, Miss Saigon, and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang which I cannot wait for both, but Chitty is going to be extra special as me and Hayleigh will be road tripping it up to Leeds just to see it as you guessed it my fav man Jon Robyns is the Lead! I then also have in June, Funny Girl with Sheridan Smith with my mum and sister which has always been a special film to all of us so I cannot wait to share that with them, and also to see Sheridan again on the same stage I first saw her!

So that’s 3 shows already paid for, and there are many that I want to see next year, Aladdin, Jersey Boys, Chicago to name a few, but I also want to go and see Les Miserable again with the Boy so another hopeful theatre trip with him would be nice.

So keep your eyes posted and please keep reading 🙂 thank you!
